Jawaharlal Nehru A Great Personality

Disturbing facts about Jawaharlal Nehru

Some Points That I came to Know from Online Research :

That Nehru was not the appropriatly choosen Candidate as the First Prime Minister of india. He was voted down, I may remember correctly, by 8–2 margin votes by elected memebers whose job was to vote for the First Prime Minister of India. The Majority voted for Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel. It was after M.K. Gandhi asked the members to change their decision that Nehru could become the PM of India. (the first case of Favoritism over systemetic process in Post-British India)

1.He was a selfish, egoist, narcissist, corrupt politician who loved his power to sustain and gave his      luxurious way of life first rather than standing in his country when he needed it most. his selfish nature gave rise to many challenges India still faces:
He used his power to transfer article 306-A which eventually became the source of article 370 granting special rights to Kashmir.

2.India lost its chance to teach China a lesson in 1950 China Conflict because of his soft stance and allegiance to China.Shortly, after India's independence in 1947, the first commander-in-chief of the Indian armed forces, General Sir Robert Lockhart approached Pt. Nehru with a paper outlining strategic plan for the growth of Indian Army. On seeing the paper, Pt. Nehru replied, "We do not need a Defence plan. Our policy is ahimsa, non-violence. We foresee no military threats. Scrap the army! The police are good enough to meet our security needs.”

3.Few people are aware that the main reason for India's divorce was Nehru. It is said that during India's independence Muhammad Ali Jinnah wanted to be prime minister but Nehru refused to relinquish his post. For this reason Jinnah announced a new Islamic country if he could not be prime minister thus Pakistan Born. When Jinnah took away Pakistan and made it an Islamic Country he never argued for a Hindu sovereign country.

4.Jawaharlal Nehru became a widow at a very young age. This is a well-known fact and it is also known that Edwina Mountbatten, Viceroy's last wife shared plato friendship (attested by Edwina's daughter Pamela Hicks in her book Daughter of Empire) with him. However, controversial discussions suggest that the relationship was beyond what was termed “platonic relationship”.

Nehru was in love with Sarojini Naidu's daughter Padmaja Naidu, whom Nehru appointed as Governor of Bangal. It is revealed that he used to keep his picture in his bedroom, which Indira used to remove. It caused a rift between father and daughter.

5.Government of India has not built a memorial of Jawaharlal Nehru at his birth place 77 Mirganj in Allahabad, because it is a brothel. The entire locality is a well known red light area since long. It has not become a brothel recently, but it has been a brothel even before Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth. A portion of the same house was sold by his father Motilal Nehru to a prostitute named Lali Jaan and it came to be known as “Imambada”. Motilal Nehru along with his family, later shifted to Anand Bhawan.

6.He also refused to join the UN grant of permanent membership in India and offered this to China in 1950.The US offered PM Nehru a Permanent seat for India at the UN Security Council in 1950. Nehru rejected the offer.

7.Rejecting the offer for a Permanent seat at the UN Security Council, Nehru said: "Not at the cost of  China".
The US & USSR again offered PM Nehru a Permanent seat for India at the UN Security Council in 1955. Nehru AGAIN  rejected the offer. He INSISTED that priority be given to China instead of India. Nehru ensured that China got a Permanent seat at the UN Security Council AT THE EXPENSE OF India.
Today, because of Nehru, China has the opportunity to repeatedly harm India's interests at the UN.

8.The Sultan of Oman offered the port of Gwadar to India in 1958 for ONLY $1 million. Nehru rejected the offer.Pakistan subsequently bought Gwadar. Today, it is a major strategically located port. China is investing billions.

9.In the early 1950s, Nepal's King Tribhuvan offered to merge with India. Nehru rejected it. - Should the 1950 treaty be scrapped? Nepal had offered to merge with India after independence. PM Jawaharlal Nehru refused. Should the 1950 treaty be scrapped?

10.Nehru lied to Parliament on September 28, 1955. Said there had been no offer for a seat for India in the UNSC. dated September 28, 1955: UN seat: Nehru clarifies

11.US president Kennedy offered to help India detonate a nuclear device BEFORE the 1962 China war. Nehru refused. - Nehru's refusal of Kennedy's offer of nuclear detonation kept India out of the NSG

12.Had Nehru accepted Kennedy's offer of assistance, India would have been the first Asian nuclear power, AHEAD of China.

13.Had Nehru accepted Kennedy's offer of assistance, China would not have dared invade India in 1962. Nor Pakistan in 1965.

14.Had Nehru accepted Kennedy's offer of assistance, India would have been a FOUNDING MEMBER of the Nuclear Suppliers Group.

Everyone should read "Nehru's 97 Major Blunders" a superb, eye-opening book by @Rajnikant_rkp. Highly recommended.

My Question For Everyone:- Did Nehru award Bharat Ratna to himself?
